I've had the privilege of meeting many volunteers this past year who have given so freely of their time, effort and money. Yet I am still in awe of people like Connie Henrie who have dedicated their lives to helping those who need it most and always with a gorgeous, laid-back smile.
For almost 10 years, Connie has been delivering meals to homebound seniors with Meals on Wheels while lending her ear as well. Though born in Utah, Connie's love of caring for those most in need has taken her to the East Coast where she served as a nanny before returning home to Utah. Connie says, "I love to help out with children and seniors. I love providing company, empathy and love with those who need just a little bit more of these needs."
"You love them and get just a little attached, but knowing they are going to a new loving home is worth it," says Connie.
Connie says she has always loved animals and can't remember a time when she hasn't... and that's certainly easy to understand once you meet her. As sincere as one comes, UVAR is fortunate to count Connie not only as a wonderful volunteer but as a friend.
